The Missisquoi Wildlife Refuge Project 2008

The Missisquoi Wildlife Refuge Project was a benefit project where member photographers captured images from the Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge and then member artists produced artwork from these images.

The Missisquoi Wildlife Project opening reception and show was held on Saturday June 28, 2008 and was a complete success! Approximately 150 to 200 people came to view the beautiful photography and artwork that was provided by our member photographers and artists of The Saint Albans Artists’ Guild. Artwork and photography were sold and the proceeds benefited both the Saint Albans Artists' Guild and the Friends of the Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge in order that both organizations may continue to bring visual arts and natural beauty to our communities.

Vermont Art Council Grant Seekers Workshop - Nov 5, 2007

Vermont Grant Seekers Workshop

15 people attended the Grants Workshop which was co-hosted by The Saint Albans Historical Museum and the Saint Albans Artists' Guild on November 5, 2007. The event was held at the Saint Albans Historical Museum. Everyone found it to be a very informative work shop. Stina Plant of the STAART Gallery in Saint Albans attended the work shop and has put together a very informative article on her blog - if you were not able to attend the workshop, it's a must read. The link below is to Stina's blog... http://staartgallery.blogspot.com/2007/11/vac-grants.html

Norm Choiniere of Champlain Collection gave us a demonstration on framing as did Stina Plant who gave a demonstration on children's photography. Linda DeKoff 's demonstration was about designing artistic book covers and Keith Gallup demonstrated working with oils. All in all it was a fun day to see all the Art in the Park and Celebrate St. Albans.

The Saint Albans Artists' Guild would like to thank our members who conducted demonstrations and all our members that participated and helped in various ways toward the success of the "2007 Art in The Park Event." The Guild would also like to give special thanks to Greens Ace Hardware in Enosburg for the tents that kept us dry during a couple of small showers. And a special thank you to Christopher Bouchard for volunteering and taking his time to assemble the tents for us.
